{Personal} Our travels to San Diego!

San Diego is one of the most beautiful, laid back places on the planet! Being teachers, Allison and I use the summertime to travel. We discussed and decided we’d head to California for our 1st anniversary. We received an invitation from our friend Amanda to visit her in San Diego, which sounded like a great opportunity. We met Amanda at Oak View and have stayed in contact ever sense; she moves often because Josh, her husband is in the military, and happened to be in San Diego for the summer. Amanda was an amazing tour guide, and even dropped us off at the hotel for our anniversary evening. We enjoyed the most delicious meal at Island Prime and were so surprised when Steve Harrington (one of my best friends) found out where we were celebrating, and picked up the check from 3000 miles away! He never fails to amaze me. Thanks Steve!  San Diego is an amazing place and we hope to visit again someday. Enjoy some of our photos!

Before and After

I recently discovered a new sub-passion. Photoshop! I like taking a photos and turning them it into a work of art. Think of it this way, its like taking a pencil sketch and transforming it into a painting.
Left: Here my lovely assistant, my wife, let me practice taking some shots of her. The orginal photo is good. Nice lighting, great model, I like how the gray sets her from the background, giving a three-dimensional look. The after photo is exciting! It looks fresh and clean. I really enjoyed working on this photo. I touched up some parts and added a textured background using photoshop and BAM! There you go.

Allison – My Supermodel

Many times Allison, my wife, my supermodel, gets stuck being my guinea pig. She doesn’t like getting her picture taken so I am very thankful she allows me to practice different techniques with her as my model. Here is a photo I took of her at Hartland Orchard in Markham, VA.
